About Me
Hello, I’m Cath Wren – a name inspired by a character from one of my very first children’s stories. Art has always been my way of connecting with the world, whether through sketching beloved pets, capturing the delicate beauty of birds, or more recently, celebrating the wonderfully unique pangolin. Supporting conservation charities that protect these incredible creatures is something very close to my heart.
Based in the North East of England, I draw endless inspiration from our stunning coastline and landscapes. My work spans different mediums, but I’m most often found with coloured pencils or watercolours in hand, bringing gentle detail and vibrant life to each piece.
Portfolio Artwork
Here you’ll find a collection of some of my favourite pieces brought to life.
Together, these artworks reflect the variety of mediums I love to explore, coloured pencils, watercolours, and watercolour pencil techniques. Each chosen to bring out the unique character of every animal.
More examples can be found in my Gallery.

Pangolin Conservation
Protecting Pangolins: Gentle Creatures in Crisis
Most trafficked mammal on Earth (after humans): Every 5 minutes, another pangolin is poached.
Brutal reality: Many are beaten, boiled alive for their meat, or slaughtered for their scales which is falsely believed to have medicinal value.
Defenceless and shy: Toothless, nocturnal and gentle, pangolins curl into a ball when threatened. Against natural predators this works, but against humans, they are simply carried away.
Caught in snares and fences: Victims of electrified traps, pangolins suffer silently despite their harmless nature.
Critically endangered: All eight species are threatened, with most on the IUCN Critically Endangered list.
Eco‑gardeners of the forest: By eating ants and termites, pangolins balance ecosystems. Their powerful claws aerate the soil, keeping forests healthy and thriving.
Why it Matters
If we don’t act now, pangolins could vanish forever. Their loss would not only be heartbreaking but would also damage the delicate balance of the ecosystems they help sustain.
How You Can Help
Every pangolin‑related purchase includes a donation to conservation charities working tirelessly to protect them.
